Home energy savings audit

A walk through the house with one question in mind: where is energy being lost, and what's worth doing first? You get practical priorities, not a sales pitch.

What you get

  • Report within 24 hours.
  • A written report with practical priorities: what's likely worth doing first, what can wait, and what needs a contractor's quote.
  • Plain notes you can take to contractors so their quotes cover the same work.

Honest notes

Testing depends on the home; ask when booking about any testing you're interested in.

The audit doesn't promise a percentage or dollar saving. Real savings depend on the work done, the household and utility rates.

Questions

What do I need to do before the audit?

Clear a path to the attic hatch, the crawlspace access, the water heater and the heating and cooling equipment, and have a list of any rooms that are hard to keep comfortable.

Do I get a list of products to buy?

No. You get priorities by type of work, such as sealing the attic floor before adding insulation. Contractors can then quote the work.

Is this the same as Title 24 testing?

No. Title 24 verification is tied to a permitted project. The savings audit is for you, whether or not you're planning work.
